XRP Takes Over New York City Subways Ahead of Ripple Swell

Bold New Ad Campaign Hits Manhattan's 42nd Street
If you stepped into a subway train near Manhattan's busy 42nd Street recently, you might have spotted a striking new look. Large white logos set against bold black backdrops featuring XRP have taken over subway cars and station interiors across New York City.
This public marketing campaign covers both the inside and outside of subway cars. The visually striking design pairs the crypto's iconic logo with American flags and a simple core message: "Crypto Responsibly."
Manhattan's 42nd Street transit hub connects major landmarks like Grand Central Terminal and Times Square. Placing ads in this location puts the digital asset in front of hundreds of thousands of daily commuters and international travelers.
Connecting the Dots: RippleXRP-1.00% Swell and NYC Events
The timing of this ad push is no accident. Ripple is hosting its flagship annual conference, Ripple Swell, in New York City from October 27 through October 29.
Ripple Swell is one of the biggest gatherings in the crypto industry. It brings together leaders from traditional banking, financial services, payments, and blockchain technology to discuss cross-border settlement solutions and global financial infrastructure.
The AI & Fintech XRPL Hackathon
The subway ads also follow right on the heels of another major New York event: the AI & Fintech XRP Ledger Hackathon, which took place on October 24–25.
Organized by XRPL Commons, this 36-hour coding marathon brought developers together to build cutting-edge applications combining artificial intelligence with the XRP Ledger (XRPL).
Several major global technology and payment companies partnered for the hackathon, including:
- Ripple – The enterprise blockchain solutions provider.
- Mastercard – The global payment card giant.
- Ledger – Leading hardware security provider for digital assets.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) – Cloud computing service platform.
- Quick Node – Blockchain infrastructure provider.
A Unified Push for Brand Identity
The subway take-over is part of a larger initiative to build a distinct public identity for XRP.
On October 19, an official joint X account (@XRP) was launched. The account represents a collaborative effort between Ripple and the XRP Ledger Foundation.
Hello, world. It's about time.
Along with the social media debut, a new website was launched at XRP.org. The site focuses on practical real-world applications of the cryptocurrency, such as fast cross-border payments and low transaction costs.
The slogan "Crypto Responsibly" featured on the NYC subway cars is also front and center on the new website, signaling an emphasis on regulatory compliance and mainstream financial integration.
Expanding Beyond New York City
New York City is not the first place where XRP branding has entered mainstream public spaces this year.
Back in July, Ripple announced a multi-year sponsorship agreement with the University of Kansas. That partnership introduced XRP branding to the university's college sports teams, including its football and basketball programs.
As of now, there is no official confirmation regarding the financial cost, length, or total scope of the New York subway advertising campaign.
Understanding Marketing Visibility and Market Reality
Public advertising campaigns can increase mainstream awareness and spark curiosity among everyday commuters. However, heavy marketing alone does not dictate token prices or eliminate market risks.
Digital asset markets remain highly volatile, and asset values can shift quickly based on macroeconomic trends, regulatory updates, and broader market sentiment. While increased visibility shows growing institutional effort, investors should always review technical facts and market fundamentals.
Past performance of digital assets is not a guarantee of future performance. You can track live market updates anytime at Bitkub Market.
