Michael Saylor Sees $100K Bitcoin Ahead as Market Bottoms

Michael Saylor Declares Start of New Bitcoin Bull Run
Michael Saylor believes the worst is now behind us for Bitcoin. During an interview with Bloomberg Television on October 13, 2026, the Executive Chairman of Strategy shared his upbeat outlook on the crypto market.
Saylor pointed out that Bitcoin recently hit a local bottom slightly below $60,000. He emphasized that the asset is now well-positioned to move forward.
While he did not set an exact timeline, Saylor stated that Bitcoin will likely return above $100,000. Over the next two decades, he expects the asset to grow by 20% to 30% annually.
Assumptions and Risks Behind the $100K Prediction
Any price prediction depends heavily on macroeconomic conditions. For Bitcoin to sustainedly cross $100,000, several positive trends must continue smoothly.
Saylor highlights four key drivers pushing the market forward: clear regulation, bank adoption, tokenized securities, and digital credit expansion. If these factors hold strong, the bullish trajectory remains intact.
However, investors should consider potential downside risks. Unexpected interest rate hikes or adverse policy changes could stall growth or pull prices down instead. Currently, prediction markets assign a 27% probability to Bitcoin hitting $100,000 in the short term.
Why Artificial Intelligence Makes Bitcoin Stand Out
Saylor brought an interesting perspective regarding Artificial Intelligence into the conversation. He noted that as AI generates massive amounts of digital output, truly scarce assets will become far more valuable.
He calls Bitcoin the king of commodities because software and robots cannot simply create more of it.
Bitcoin is raw financial energy. Strategy transforms it into Digital Credit.
Saylor also brushed aside political concerns regarding upcoming elections in 2028. He believes that once people experience useful digital financial products, political shifts will not stop adoption.
Strategy's Business Model and Treasury Strategy
The interview touched on Strategy's occasional Bitcoin sales earlier this year, which surprised some company followers.
Saylor explained that Strategy is best understood as a structured finance company. It dynamically manages capital across equity, cash, credit, and Bitcoin depending on market shifts.
Despite selling an initial batch of 32 BTCBTC-0.38% and subsequent holdings, Strategy has acquired more Bitcoin overall than any other firm this year. The company plans to keep adding coins by issuing digital credit.
On October 12, Strategy disclosed buying another 250 BTC. This brings the firm's total treasury to 848,250 BTC.
Historical Performance and Market Headwinds
Saylor noted that since August 2020, Bitcoin has delivered annualized gains of roughly 38%. Meanwhile, Strategy's stock (MSTR) returned approximately 52% to 53% annually over the same period.
Past performance of digital assets or past operational performance is no guarantee of future returns or future results. Market participants can monitor real-time prices at bitkub.com/th/market/BTC.
Even with strong metrics, Strategy faces upcoming challenges. Index provider MSCI is deciding by October 16 whether to update eligibility rules that could exclude Strategy from global equity indexes.
JPMorgan estimates that $2.8 billion in capital flows could be affected if Strategy is removed. Saylor called MSCI's stance disappointing and expressed hope that the decision would be reconsidered.
In preferred stock markets, Strategy's STRC preferred shares recently settled at $99.88, achieving its highest closing level since May following ongoing buyback activity.
