Chainlink Brings Data Feeds to Stellar Ecosystem

ChainlinkLINK-3.12% Launches Market Data on StellarXLM-4.15%
The Stellar blockchain is taking a major step forward into decentralized finance (DeFi). Chainlink's data infrastructure is now officially live on the Stellar network.
This integration brings real-time market data to a network that already hosts more than $4 billion in tokenized real-world assets (RWAs).
What Does This Integration Actually Mean?
Think of Chainlink as a secure bridge. Blockchains are great at storing data, but they cannot look outside themselves to check current market prices. That is where oracles like Chainlink come in.
By bringing Chainlink Data Feeds and Data Streams to Stellar, developers get access to accurate price information. Without reliable pricing, applications cannot safely run basic financial activities like lending or trading.
With this upgrade, developers on Stellar can now create:
- Decentralized lending platforms that accurately measure collateral values.
- Perpetual futures exchanges and prediction markets.
- Automated liquidation tools to handle fast market movements.
- Stablecoin pricing mechanisms to keep tokens balanced.
From Holding Assets to Actively Trading Them
Tokenizing assets—like turning real estate or treasury bonds into digital tokens—is only the first step. To make those assets useful, users need ways to trade them or borrow against them.
"Tokenization is only the beginning," said Raja Chakravorti, Chief Business Officer at the Stellar Development Foundation. He pointed out that institutional-grade markets require dependable systems for pricing, execution, and asset movement.
Johann Eid, Chief Business Officer at Chainlink Labs, shared a similar view. He stated that adopting Chainlink data infrastructure unlocks a new generation of DeFi and tokenized asset applications across Stellar's ecosystem.
The Scale Program and Future Cross-Chain Plans
This launch follows Stellar's earlier entry into the Chainlink Scale program. Under this program, Stellar helps cover costs so developers can access Chainlink data more affordably.
The partnership also plans to introduce Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) in the future. While CCIP was not part of this specific announcement, it will eventually enable Stellar assets to move smoothly across different blockchains.
Competing for Institutional Adoption
Blockchain networks are actively competing to attract traditional financial institutions. Bringing traditional assets onchain can cut costs and speed up settlements.
Stellar has established a strong position in payments and tokenized assets. Adding robust DeFi tools gives those assets more utility, which could attract extra liquidity and new developers.
While expanding into DeFi brings new opportunities, users should keep in mind that interacting with smart contracts involves inherent technology and market risks. Past performance of digital assets is not an indicator of future results. You can track asset details on Bitkub Market.
Chainlink Teams Up with IT Giant Infosys
In related news, Chainlink also announced a strategic partnership with global IT leader Infosys. Infosys provides software infrastructure that supports platforms catering to 1.7 billion accounts worldwide.
Together, these announcements highlight Chainlink's focus on connecting enterprise-scale platforms with public blockchain ecosystems.
