Bitcoin ETFs Cross $1 Billion in 3-Day Inflow Surge

Big money is moving back into crypto funds. On Wednesday, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs brought in $528.40 million, pushing their three-day total past $1.08 billion.
This influx happened even as token prices dipped slightly. Bitcoin (BTCBTC-1.67%) traded around $81,724 (-2.04%), while EthereumETH-2.21% (ETH) sat near $2,400 (-2.74%).
Past performance of digital assets is no guarantee of future results. Still, institutional demand shows signs of broadening across multiple products.
BlackRock and Fidelity Lead Broad Bitcoin Gains
Earlier in the week, momentum was driven mostly by one product. Monday's $526.60 million surge was almost entirely powered by BlackRock's IBIT fund.
Tuesday added a modest $23.16 million. But by Wednesday, institutional buying expanded to nearly the entire spot ETF market.
Eight separate Bitcoin funds ended Wednesday in positive territory. BlackRock and Fidelity led the pack, combining for roughly 84% of the day's inflows:
- BlackRock (IBIT): +$234.99 million
- Fidelity (FBTC): +$212.71 million
- Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC): +$32.59 million
- Bitwise (BITB): +$19.23 million
- Ark & 21Shares (ARKB): +$9.79 million
Grayscale's Bitcoin Mini Trust, Franklin's EZBC, and Valkyrie's BRRR also finished positive. Total trading volume reached $3.15 billion, driving net assets up to $109.31 billion.
Why Broad Participation Matters
This market shift is notable. Last week, Bitcoin ETFs shed about $229 million as institutional investors dialed back risk.
When capital flows into just one fund, a market rebound can be fragile. Having eight distinct issuers gather funds provides a sturdier foundation.
The first three trading days of the week have now fully recovered last week's outflows. However, investors should remember that fund flows can swing rapidly in volatile markets.
Ethereum Funds Turn Positive Despite Internal Split
Ether ETFs returned to positive territory on Wednesday, pulling in $14.96 million in net inflows. However, demand across different funds remained uneven.
Grayscale's Ether Mini Trust led gains with $28.07 million, while Fidelity's FETH gathered $13.03 million. Morgan Stanley (MSSE), Franklin (EZET), and Bitwise (ETHW) also added capital.
Conversely, BlackRock's ETHA lost $29.32 million. Due to heavy redemptions earlier in the week, Ether ETFs remain down roughly $114 million overall.
Daily trading volume for Ether funds reached $695.71 million, leaving total net assets at $15.36 billion.
Altcoins Show Signs of Relief
Capital also flowed into major altcoin funds. SolanaSOL-2.23% ETFs broke a 12-session outflow streak with a modest $585,300 inflow into Morgan Stanley's MSOL.
While small, breaking a two-week streak of persistent selling marks a key shift. Meanwhile, Zcash ETFs pulled in $15.18 million via Grayscale's ZCSH following Tuesday's $1.61 million deposit, lifting net assets to $745.39 million.
Other notable altcoin movements included:
- NEAR: Gained $830,700, quickly rebounding from its first-ever daily outflow.
- XRPXRP-1.89%: Closed positive with $708,520 in net inflows.
Additionally, Grayscale moved to expand in-kind subscriptions across 10 digital-asset products. This adjustment helps large investors trade between crypto tokens and fund shares without converting to cash first.
Overall, Wednesday's capital movements suggest institutional appetite is expanding across multiple crypto assets. The key test will be whether this momentum carries through the rest of the week.
