XRP Price Flat at $1.30 Despite Ripple OCC Bank Charter

XRP Price Flat Despite Major Bank Charter
RippleXRP+1.26% officially secured final approval from the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) to establish a national trust bank. Despite the news, XRP traded sideways between $1.29 and $1.31.
The token briefly climbed to $1.31 before retreating to $1.30. This leaves XRP virtually flat over seven days and down more than 15% since early October.
A secondary announcement also failed to spark a rally. Ripple partner SBI Holdings joined forces with BlackRock and Startale to connect tokenized funds with a yen stablecoin.
For historical context, XRP reached an all-time high of $3.66 in July 2025 before entering a broader downtrend. Past performance of digital assets is not an indicator of future results.
Infrastructure News vs Immediate Demand
The lack of price movement sparked frustration among retail traders on social media. Many investors questioned why major adoption announcements were not translating into immediate price gains.
Industry experts suggest the muted market reaction is understandable. Ermo Eero, Managing Director at Ironwallet, noted that the conditional OCC charter was already granted last December.
The final OCC approval creates a federally supervised framework to safeguard RLUSD reserves and enterprise custody. However, Eero emphasized that financial infrastructure pays off over years rather than days.
Whales Hold 68.5% of Token Supply
While retail sentiment remains cautious, large holders continue to accumulate XRP.
Data from Santiment Intelligence shows that wallets holding at least 10 million XRP control 46.87 billion tokens. This accounts for 68.5% of the circulating supply, marking the highest concentration since November 2022.
Steady accumulation during price weakness indicates strong conviction among institutional-scale investors.
Market Scenarios and Key Levels
Market analysts identify $1.30 as the critical immediate pivot point, with key support sitting near $1.20.
Under favorable market conditions—such as sustained institutional settlement expansion and steady inflows—analysts suggest XRP could test $1.50 to confirm a recovery.
Conversely, if broader crypto market weakness persists or support breaks below $1.20, XRP could face further downside adjustments.
