The Vault Opens New Engineering Hub in Tbilisi

The Vault Expands to Tbilisi with a New Engineering Hub
Institutional crypto custody provider The Vault is expanding its global technical footprint. The company has officially announced the opening of a new engineering hub in Tbilisi, Georgia.
The local entity behind this expansion will operate under the name Tría Labs. This new hub will become a dedicated home for developers and cryptographers who build and maintain the platform's security technology.
Connecting Zug, Limassol, and Tbilisi
The Vault already operates key corporate and engineering offices in Zug, Switzerland, and Limassol, Cyprus. The new team in Tbilisi will work in close coordination with these existing locations.
By bringing skilled engineers together across these three regions, the company aims to enhance its infrastructure to support institutional clients worldwide.
Why Georgia? A Growing Tech Hotspot Between Europe and Asia
Georgia has quickly emerged as one of the most dynamic technology destinations located between Europe and Asia. The country has attracted a growing community of software engineers and technical specialists.
Several key factors make Tbilisi an attractive destination for international fintech firms:
- Strategic geographic location connecting European and Asian markets
- A rapidly expanding ecosystem of skilled international tech talent
- An open environment for long-term tech development and innovation
Focusing on Core Technology and Proprietary MPC
From the Tbilisi hub, the engineering team will focus on advancing The Vault's core technology stack. This includes its proprietary Multi-Party Computation (MPC) library, which was independently audited by cybersecurity firm Halborn earlier this year.
To understand Multi-Party Computation, imagine a digital safe that requires multiple distinct key fragments to open. Instead of storing a full private key in one place, MPC splits the key into separate mathematical pieces.
Because no single piece reveals the whole key, MPC significantly reduces single points of failure and enhances protection against unauthorized access.
The Vault delivers its custody solutions through both Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and on-premise deployments. These systems are used by traditional banks, asset managers, and fintech platforms to secure digital assets.
Rising Institutional Demand and the EU MiCA Framework
The expansion comes at a pivotal time for institutional digital asset adoption in Europe. The European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation is establishing clear rules for regulated crypto services.
As regulatory frameworks take effect, traditional financial institutions are increasingly seeking compliant and secure custody infrastructure. This demand requires infrastructure providers to increase their software capacity.
The Vault's investment in Tbilisi is designed to support this product growth as institutional interest in regulated digital asset custody expands.
Separating Product R&D from Regulated Financial Services
The Vault maintains a clear operational structure between software research and regulated financial services. The new office in Tbilisi is dedicated entirely to product development, research, and software engineering.
All regulated crypto-asset services remain strictly under the jurisdiction of The Vault's existing licensed entities in Cyprus and Switzerland:
- Cyprus Operations: Managed by Tría Bridge Ltd, authorized by CySEC as a crypto-asset service provider under MiCA (License 013/24).
- Swiss Operations: Handled by SwissZeit Capital AG, an active member of the VQF self-regulatory organization in Switzerland.
Leadership Perspective on the New Hub
Artem Stopnevich, CEO of The Vault, emphasized the importance of providing a supportive environment for the team building the company's core technology.
"Everything we offer our clients is built on our own technology, so giving the people who create it the best possible base is a priority for us. Tbilisi offers exactly that: an open, talented and rapidly growing tech scene, and a city where our team can settle for the long term. We are delighted to become part of it."
Next Steps for the Tbilisi Operational Setup
The Vault is currently completing local administrative, banking, tax, and employment setups in Georgia.
The first group of technical specialists and engineers is expected to begin working from the new Tbilisi facility in the coming months.
As the digital asset market continues to mature under structured regulatory frameworks, robust technology and secure custody solutions remain central focus areas for institutional adoption.
