Michael Saylor Reacts to Study Showing AI Prefers Bitcoin

Michael Saylor Shares Bullish Response to AI Money Study
Have you ever wondered what kind of money artificial intelligence would choose if left to make its own financial decisions? A recent research project looked into that exact question, and the results caught the attention of MicroStrategy Executive Chairman Michael Saylor.
"Smart money saves in Bitcoin," Saylor posted on X on October 15, 2026.
Saylor made his comment after reviewing the Q3 update of the ongoing "Money for AI" study. As a longtime advocate for Bitcoin, he saw the findings as strong support for his belief that Bitcoin (BTCBTC+0.16%) serves as an ideal long-term savings asset.
Inside the "Money for AI" Research Project
The research aims to understand how AI models behave when acting as autonomous economic agents without human intervention. To figure this out, researchers set up test environments to evaluate how AI models handle money.
The Q3 update expanded the original research by adding 13 new AI models. Researchers tested these models across four primary financial tasks:
- Saving money for the future
- Making everyday payments
- Pricing goods and keeping account records
- Settling financial transactions
Why AI Models Pick Bitcoin for Saving Wealth
This research builds on earlier work conducted in March by the Bitcoin Policy Institute. That initial study examined 36 AI models across 9,072 financial scenarios.
The findings showed a clear pattern: when AI models needed to hold wealth for the long term, they heavily favored Bitcoin over alternative options like stablecoins, fiat currency, and other cryptocurrencies.
Here is a breakdown of the key figures from the study:
- 79.1% of responses chose Bitcoin as the top option for preserving wealth over time.
- 48.3% of responses selected Bitcoin as the preferred monetary tool across all four combined financial activities.
- 53.2% of responses favored stablecoins for daily payments, compared to 36% for Bitcoin.
Follow-Up Tests Confirm the Same Patterns
A subsequent follow-up test involving 9 new AI models confirmed these earlier observations. In the follow-up round, Bitcoin maintained a 75.8% preference rate for long-term savings, while stablecoins continued to dominate the payments category.
These findings suggest that artificial intelligence models logically distinguish between two main types of assets. They view Bitcoin as a value-preserving asset for storing wealth, while choosing stablecoins as efficient transactional assets for spending.
While research insights and executive commentary highlight unique market perspectives, digital assets experience market cycles and fluctuations. Past performance of digital assets is not a guarantee of future performance. You can monitor live market trends at bitkub.com/th/market/BTC.
