Cross River Integrates Ripple's RLUSD into Banking

A New Bridge Between Banking and Crypto
Cross River Bank has officially teamed up with RippleXRP+0.67% to bring Ripple's dollar-backed stablecoin, RLUSD, straight into traditional banking rails. A spokesperson for Cross River Bank shared details about the move with Bitcoin.com News, explaining how the partnership makes cross-border payments much simpler.
The main goal is to let companies send digital payments without forcing them to build or run their own complex blockchain infrastructure from scratch.
How the Single-Connection Integration Works
Financial technology firms, often called fintechs, can now access both traditional money transfers and blockchain settlements using just one connection. Instead of dealing with separate vendors for different payment methods, businesses get an all-in-one setup.
Through this single system, financial institutions can easily handle multiple tasks:
- Traditional wire transfers and Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments
- Direct RLUSD transactions using the XRP Ledger network
- Seamless conversions between standard U.S. dollars and digital RLUSD
- Continuous 24/7 access for managing global treasury and transfers
Why Cross River Bank Plays a Major Role in Fintech
Cross River Bank has earned a reputation as a major bridge between traditional finance (TradFi) and the digital asset sector. While many traditional banks remain hesitant to work with crypto firms due to regulatory questions and compliance demands, Cross River built dedicated technology tailored to digital asset companies.
Using its Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) framework, major crypto platforms like Coinbase and Circle have long connected to standard banking networks to handle customer deposits, withdrawals, and routine payments.
What Leadership Says About the Partnership
Adam Goller, the head of fintech banking at Cross River, highlighted how this agreement removes everyday friction for businesses operating across borders.
Businesses shouldn’t have to rely on several different providers to move money across the globe. Our partnership with Ripple eliminates that complexity and makes payments simpler.
Markus Infanger, senior vice president of RippleX at Ripple, also pointed out the real-world value of bringing stablecoins into regulated banking systems.
Cross River is at the forefront of putting that into practice by bringing RLUSD and the XRP Ledger’s fast, low-cost settlement into its regulated banking platform.
Current Availability and Limitations
While this setup brings stablecoin integration closer to mainstream finance, there is one key condition to keep in mind. Cross River noted that these RLUSD-enabled banking services are currently open only in a limited number of U.S. states.
Even with geographic limits during launch, embedding Ripple's stablecoin technology directly into a regulated U.S. bank allows corporate clients to test modern blockchain speed while staying fully connected to conventional banking infrastructure.
