BlackRock Drives Entire $110M Bitcoin ETF Inflow

BlackRock Single-Handedly Powers Monday's BitcoinBTC+0.02% Inflows
Institutional investors kicked off the week with a clear divide in how they allocated capital. Spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) gathered $110.34 million in net inflows on Monday, October 26, 2026.
However, there is a fascinating detail behind that headline number. Every single dollar of that $110.34 million gain came through just one product: BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT).
No other spot Bitcoin fund recorded any net inflows or outflows for the day. Total trading volume across all Bitcoin ETFs reached $1.86 billion, bringing total net assets to $102.84 billion.
While this capital injection keeps Bitcoin on stable ground after last week's choppy trading, reliance on a single fund highlights a narrow buyer base. Market analysts often prefer seeing broad-based buying across multiple issuers to confirm widespread market demand.
Capital flows into crypto products can shift rapidly depending on broader macroeconomic conditions and short-term market volatility.
Ether ETFs Reverse Course With $89 Million Outflow
While Bitcoin managed a positive start, Ether funds quickly slid back into net redemptions. Institutional investors pulled out $88.58 million from Ether ETFs on Monday, reversing Friday's modest gains.
The biggest drag came from BlackRock's EthereumETH+0.34% ETF (ETHA), which saw $104.71 million leave the fund. On the other hand, Fidelity's Ethereum fund (FETH) managed to attract $16.13 million in fresh inflows.
Daily trading activity for Ether products reached $506.23 million, with total net assets closing at $14.07 billion.
This pattern highlights an ongoing trend where institutional demand for Ether remains weaker compared to Bitcoin. Even during weeks when Bitcoin funds finish positive, Ether products frequently face persistent redemptions.
Altcoins Face Pressure: SolanaSOL-0.64%, HYPE, and XRP Slide
The cautious mood extended beyond Ether to several major altcoin funds, indicating that big investors are currently reducing risk in higher-volatility assets.
Solana (SOL) ETFs recorded $8.23 million in net daily outflows. The decline was led by Bitwise's BSOL, which shed $7.22 million, while Grayscale's GSOL lost $1.83 million.
A minor offset came from Morgan Stanley's MSOL fund, which brought in $817,710 to cushion the loss. Total trading volume for Solana ETFs hit $56.55 million, bringing net assets down to $1.55 billion.
This weakness is notable because Solana has struggled to rebuild momentum after its long inflow streak ended earlier this month. Repeated withdrawals suggest institutional appetite for higher-beta exposure remains guarded.
Other altcoins also posted negative numbers. HyperliquidHYPE+1.29% ETFs lost $4.30 million, while XRP funds registered $3.61 million in net outflows.
Quiet Demand: Zcash and NEAR Continue to Attract Buyers
Despite widespread cautiousness in major altcoins, two smaller crypto asset categories managed to buck the trend.
Zcash (ZEC) continued its steady positive run. Grayscale's ZCSH pulled in $1.96 million on Monday, marking its fifth straight session of net inflows. Net assets for the Zcash fund reached $710.11 million.
NEAR ProtocolNEAR+0.24% funds also stayed in positive territory. Bitwise's NRR added $1.40 million in new capital, pushing its net asset total to $80.05 million.
Key Takeaways for Crypto Markets
Looking at the overall picture, institutional crypto demand remains focused on select products. Here are the core factors driving current flows:
- Concentrated Bitcoin Inflows: Capital is entering Bitcoin, but heavily concentrated through BlackRock's IBIT.
- Ether Redemptions: Ether funds remain caught in recurring redemption cycles.
- Altcoin Caution: Major altcoins like Solana, HYPE, and XRP face continued institutional selling.
- Niche Accumulation: Smaller categories such as Zcash and NEAR have formed steady pockets of demand.
For institutional risk appetite to broaden, Bitcoin buying will likely need to spread beyond IBIT while Ether outflows stabilize. If capital flows remain concentrated, current data points toward selective asset positioning rather than a broad market expansion.
Past performance of digital assets or ETF fund flows does not guarantee future results. Investors should monitor market risk factors carefully.
