Why XRP Price Holds Flat Despite Ripple's Major Wins

Major Corporate Wins with Quiet Price Action
RippleXRP+1.86% has had an eventful period marked by significant announcements. The company secured a national trust bank charter, formed new partnerships, and highlighted its progress during the annual Ripple Swell conference.
Despite these developments, the XRP token continues to trade near $1.27. Market participants often wonder why positive corporate headlines do not immediately translate into upward momentum for the token.
Billy Trajcevski, Head of Strategic Partnerships at Up Trade, explained that the market reaction relates directly to Ripple's corporate structure rather than a lack of operational progress.
While structural updates help build long-term foundations, digital asset prices remain subject to ongoing market volatility and unexpected shifts in market sentiment.
RLUSD vs. XRP: Understanding Two Distinct Roles
Some community members have questioned whether Ripple's dollar-backed stablecoin, RLUSD, takes attention away from XRP. Trajcevski addressed this concern directly, clarifying that the two assets serve completely different purposes.
XRP is not a stablecoin. RLUSD is. It is really as simple as that.
Trajcevski pointed out that if XRP competed with stablecoins as a direct dollar substitute, its price would remain fixed at one dollar permanently, which token holders would not want.
Instead, the two digital assets fulfill separate financial roles within global commerce:
- RLUSD: Serves as a dollar settlement currency for institutions, catering to traditional dollar-based commerce.
- XRP: Functions as a liquidity bridge for cross-border payments when settlements involve non-dollar foreign exchange pairs.
Businesses paying international invoices across different currencies require a liquidity bridge like XRP, a function that a dollar stablecoin like RLUSD cannot handle alone.
Corporate Reality: Shareholders Come First
The primary reason behind the price trajectory lies in corporate governance. Ripple operates as a private enterprise responsible to its equity shareholders.
Company shareholders expect a business model supported by diversified revenue streams, rather than a strategy completely reliant on a single digital asset.
If your entire business model is based on the success of the XRP token, the board will not be happy, shareholders will not be happy.
Ripple continues to build infrastructure and expand demand for XRP. However, management must run the company to serve overall corporate stability rather than focusing solely on token market movements.
A Returning Focus to the XRP Ecosystem
Trajcevski noted that Ripple's public positioning regarding XRP has evolved. During its legal dispute with the SEC, Ripple maintained a clear distance from the token for compliance reasons.
Following the resolution of the lawsuit, Ripple has resumed direct support for XRP, demonstrating renewed organizational alignment with the asset.
Institutional Growth and New Developments
Among the announcements made at Swell, institutional custody support stood out. Custodian institution BNY now offers custody support for XRP.
Because BNY serves major financial institutions, providing XRP custody points to growing institutional interest and infrastructure readiness.
Additionally, platforms like Bullish are exploring new utility options. Bullish CEO Tom Farley noted that the platform is in discussions with Ripple to develop additional token use cases.
Past performance of digital assets is not an indicator of future performance. Investors should review risk factors carefully and check current market data at Bitkub XRP Market.
