BTCC Reports $387B Q3 Futures Volume and TradFi Growth

BTCC Exchange Releases Q3 2026 Growth Report
BTCC, one of the earliest cryptocurrency exchanges established in 2011, has published its growth report for the third quarter of 2026. The report centers around the platform's '0-Barrier Trading' initiative. Key highlights include record-breaking futures trading activity, a 6x increase in traditional financial market trading, and significant fee savings for its global user base.
Past performance of digital assets or historical exchange metrics does not guarantee future results or performance. Trading digital assets and tokenized equities involves market risk and price volatility.
Futures Volume Reaches $387 Billion Driven by Crypto Market Activity
During Q3 2026, BTCC recorded $387 billion in total futures trading volume. This represents a 32% increase compared to the second quarter of the year. The platform experienced its busiest day on August 21, 2026, when 24-hour trading volume surged to $16.7 billion. This peak coincided with Bitcoin starting a broader market price rally in late August.
Trading expansion extended into traditional financial assets (TradFi) as well. BTCC reported that its TradFi trading volume grew from $2.7 billion in Q2 to $16.3 billion in Q3, marking a sixfold increase quarter-over-quarter.
To support this expanding demand, BTCC introduced new USDC-margined trading pairs. These additions cover popular cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTCBTC+0.12%) and Dogecoin (DOGEDOGE+1.40%), alongside international equities such as SK Hynix (SKHYNIX) and Moderna (MRNA). Driven by these product rollouts, BTCC's registered user base grew to 12.6 million traders worldwide.
Traders Saved $121 Million Through Fee Programs and Loss Protection
A primary component of BTCC's 0-Barrier strategy is reducing the overall cost of trading. In Q3 2026, the exchange delivered $121 million in total value back to its users through two main mechanisms:
- $56 million saved in trading fees: Delivered through zero-fee spot and futures trading promotional pairs.
- $65 million in loss protection: Provided via first futures trade loss coverage, which reimburses eligible new users up to 50 USDT if their initial trade incurs a loss.
Proof of Reserves Exceeds 100% and Security Upgrades
Alongside fee reductions, BTCC emphasized financial security and transparency measures. The exchange added $2.5 million to its Risk Reserve Fund during Q3, bringing the total reserve pool to $28 million. This fund acts as an extra layer of capital protection against sudden market stress.
BTCC also maintained its Proof of Reserves (PoR) above the 100% benchmark throughout the quarter. According to its October 2026 Merkle tree verification report, the exchange held an overall reserve ratio of 132%. Specific backing ratios for major assets include:
- Bitcoin (BTC): 147%
- EthereumETH+0.27%: 123%
- Ripple (XRP): 136%
- Tether (USDT): 115%
- USD Coin (USDCUSDC+0.15%): 111%
- CardanoADA+0.83%: 160%
To centralize its compliance and risk management protocols, the exchange introduced a refreshed Trust Center. This hub details platform security setups, including multi-signature cold storage wallets, continuous 24/7 Anti-Money Laundering (AML) monitoring, and third-party security audits conducted by blockchain auditing firm CertiK.
Presenting 0-Barrier Trading Pillars at TOKEN2049 Singapore
BTCC featured its operational roadmap at the TOKEN2049 conference in Singapore, where it served as a Platinum Sponsor at Marina Bay Sands. The exchange presented its 0-Barrier Trading framework, structured around four core operating principles:
- 0 Fees: Lowering transactional costs for global traders.
- 0 Friction: Simplifying user interface designs and trading execution.
- 0 Distance: Providing localized customer support in users' native languages.
- 0 Panic: Implementing clear, publicly verifiable asset reserve data.
"TOKEN2049 Singapore gave us the chance to put faces to the community we've been building for 15 years. It reinforced something we believe at BTCC: trust is earned one trader at a time, through consistency, transparency and a platform that puts users first," said Alex Hung, Head of Operations at BTCC.
Fifteen Years of Exchange Operations
BTCC originally introduced the concept of 0-Barrier Trading in Q2 2026 before fully deploying these features in Q3. As the exchange enters the final quarter of its 15th year in operation, it plans to maintain its focus on frictionless trading services.
Founded in 2011, BTCC currently serves over 12.6 million registered accounts across more than 100 countries. The company also acts as the official regional sponsor for the Argentine Football Association (AFA). Additional information and operational details can be found via the official BTCC Website and their BTCC X Profile.
