Following Thailand’s Security Exchange Commission (SEC) Recent Crypto Regulations, the US SEC will now Issue Crypto Simplified Guidelines

Thailand’s SEC decision to regulate the increasing amount of ICO offerings, and ICO portals that took effect last July 16th, the US Securities and Exchange Commission director, William Hinman has recently announced that they are planning to set a “plain English” guidelines for developers to determine whether current and future ICO can be categorized as securities or not.

Hinman explained at the D.C Fintech Week conference:

“We also will be putting out more guidance, the idea is a plain English instrument that people can look at and they’ll bring together sort of my Howey-meets-Gary speech, and that analysis … We’ll elaborate on that in a very plain English way, so ‘do I think I have a security offering,’ look at that guidance and you should be able to sort things out.”

The implementation of exerting regulations on digital assets by government bodies, such as the U.S. SEC, and the Thai SEC, indicates the inclusiveness of Fintech into traditional investment institutions. This recent development had evoked prominent financial institutions like Goldman Sachs, Fidelity and the NY stock exchange to explore possible ways of making digital assets accessible to their customers. For bullish traders this is definitely a sign to acquire and hold onto the most promising digital assets for the upcoming year of 2019. Michael Novogratz, the CEO of crypto investment firm Galaxy Digital, and ex-partner at Goldman Sachs predicts that, “by the end of the first quarter we will take out $10,000 and after that we will go back to new highs — to $20,000 or more,” in terms of bitcoin.

For cryptocurrency enthusiasts, this is obviously great news and for non adopters, digital assets are here to stay, and will change the way value is exchanged between people. As traditional financial institutions are exploring ways to incorporate and ease the crossing from fiat to digital currency and vise-versa, traditional traders are also getting ready to expand their portfolios into the cryptocurrency market.
